"Characters" counts every character including line breaks; "No spaces" excludes spaces and line breaks. Most platform limits use the with-spaces count.
"Bytes (CJK=2)" counts Korean/Chinese/Japanese as 2 and Latin letters, digits and spaces as 1 — the convention used by Korean job sites and SMS. UTF-8 counts CJK as 3 bytes, as stored on the web.
Words split on whitespace, sentences on . ! ?, paragraphs on blank lines.
