Emote and emoji sizes by platform

Each platform wants a square image at fixed pixel sizes and under a file-size limit. The resizer above exports these exact sizes from one picture. Sizes were checked against each platform's help pages on 2026-10-22.

What size are Twitch emotes?

Twitch emotes are 28 × 28, 56 × 56 and 112 × 112 pixels, PNG with a transparent background. In manual upload mode you supply all three sizes of the same image, each under 100 KB. In auto-resize mode you upload one square PNG between 112 × 112 and 4096 × 4096 pixels, under 1 MB, and Twitch makes the smaller sizes itself. Animated emotes use GIF with the same three sizes, up to 60 frames, 1 MB in auto-resize mode or 512 KB per size in manual mode.

Manual mode is worth it when auto-resize makes the 28 px version muddy: export the three sizes here, check the 28 px tile, and adjust padding or zoom until it reads clearly. What size is a Twitch sub badge?

Twitch subscriber badges are 18 × 18, 36 × 36 and 72 × 72 pixels, PNG with a transparent background, each no larger than 25 KB. Custom Tier 2 and Tier 3 flair uses the same three sizes. Pick the Badge preset to export all three. Source: Twitch Help: Subscriber badge guide.

What size are Discord emojis?

A Discord emoji is a 128 × 128 pixel image under 256 KB. Discord accepts JPEG, PNG, GIF and WEBP, and its upload screen lets you crop and zoom before saving. Larger images are scaled down, but a file over 256 KB is rejected, so a 128 px PNG is the safe choice. Sources: Discord Support: How to add custom emojis; Discord Developer Docs: Emoji resource.

What size are Discord stickers?

Discord stickers must be exactly 320 × 320 pixels and no more than 512 KB. Static stickers are PNG; animated stickers are APNG. Discord recommends 320 px because desktop chat renders stickers at 160 × 160, so the extra pixels keep them sharp on high-density screens. Source: Discord Support: Tips for sticker creators FAQ.

What size should a Slack emoji be?

Slack recommends square images under 128 KB with a transparent background. JPG, PNG and GIF are accepted, and GIFs can have up to 50 frames. Slack does not set a pixel size; a 128 × 128 PNG stays well under the file limit and still looks sharp. Source: Slack Help: Add custom emoji and aliases to your workspace.

What size are YouTube channel emoji?

YouTube custom emoji for channel memberships should be 48 × 48 pixels (preferred) up to 480 × 480 pixels, under 1 MB. JPEG, PNG and GIF are preferred, but GIFs are shown as a still image. Emoji appear at 24 × 24 points, and on high-density screens at 48 × 48 points or more, which is why 48 px is the preferred size. Source: YouTube Help: Create or manage your channel memberships levels and perks.

What size are Kick emotes?

Kick emotes are 500 × 500 pixels, PNG or GIF, under 1 MB. Every channel can upload up to 60 channel emotes, and Affiliates and verified channels can add up to 24 subscriber-only emotes. Source: Kick Help: How to add or edit KICK emotes.

BTTV and 7TV emotes

BetterTTV and 7TV did not have a size page we could verify on 2026-10-22. Their emotes appear in Twitch chat next to Twitch's own, so the BTTV / 7TV preset exports the Twitch chat sizes (28, 56 and 112 px). Check the upload screen of the extension for its current file limit.

How to make an emote that reads at 28 pixels

  • Crop tight. Leave almost no empty space. Turn on Trim transparent edges so the subject fills the square, then add a little padding only if the outline touches the edge.
  • Use thick outlines and big shapes. Fine lines and small text disappear at 28 px. One face, one gesture or one or two letters works best.
  • Check dark and light chat. The chat preview under the crop area shows your emote on both. Dark outlines vanish on dark themes; a light outer stroke fixes it.
  • Start from a large source. A 512 px or larger image downsizes cleanly. Upscaling a tiny image to 112 px makes it blurry.
  • Remove the background first. Emotes need transparency. If your image has a solid background, cut it out with the background remover and bring the PNG back here.

How to use the emote resizer

  1. Drop an image on the crop area, paste one with Ctrl+V or ⌘V, or choose a file. PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF and SVG work.
  2. Drag the image to position it, zoom with the slider or the mouse wheel, and pick Fit or Fill.
  3. Select the platforms you need. Each tile shows the real pixel size and the file size of the PNG it will save.
  4. Download a single size or everything as one ZIP with a folder per platform.

The image never leaves your device: resizing and the ZIP are done in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

What size are Twitch emotes?

28 × 28, 56 × 56 and 112 × 112 pixels as transparent PNGs, each under 100 KB when you upload the three sizes yourself. With auto-resize, upload one square PNG from 112 to 4096 pixels under 1 MB.

What is the Discord emoji size limit?

Discord emojis must be under 256 KB. A 128 × 128 PNG is the standard size.

Can I resize animated GIF emotes here?

No. This tool exports still PNG images. If you load a GIF, only its first frame is used.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. The image is read, cropped, resized and zipped in your browser. Nothing is sent to DIMA Tools.

Why does my emote look blurry at 28 px?

Detail is lost at that size. Crop tighter, use thicker outlines and fewer elements, and start from an image at least 112 px wide, ideally 512 px or more.

How do I make the background transparent?

Remove it before resizing with the free background remover, then load the transparent PNG here. Transparency is kept in every exported size.

Where can I get emoji images to use as a base?

The Apple Emoji PNG tool has every iPhone emoji as a transparent PNG. Apple emoji artwork belongs to Apple, so keep it to personal, non-commercial use.
