Global Entry renewal through your existing TTP account
Renew an existing Global Entry membership from the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) dashboard. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) allows renewal beginning one year before expiry. A renewal filed before expiry can preserve benefits for up to 24 months after the membership expiration date while the application is pending.
When should I renew Global Entry?
The renewal window begins one year before expiration. Check the actual date in the membership record rather than using the date you received a card in the mail. Apply while the membership remains valid if you want the pending-renewal benefit extension.
The continuation described by CBP applies to a renewal submitted before expiry. Do not assume that an application started but not submitted preserves benefits, or that the same continuation applies after an expired membership.
How do I find the Global Entry renewal online?
Sign in at ttp.dhs.gov through Login.gov and open the existing membership dashboard. If prompted to create or connect a profile, associate it with the existing PASSID shown on the trusted-traveler card or approval letter.
Choose Renew in the program membership section. Confirm that you are renewing Global Entry rather than selecting a different trusted-traveler program. Changing programs can change the benefits and enrollment requirements.
Does Global Entry renew automatically?
Renewal requires an application. Review and update the information in each section, certify the application, and complete the payment step. The adult Global Entry application fee is $120 and is non-refundable.
After payment, return to the dashboard and confirm the renewal was submitted. An updated passport record, saved application section, or expiring card by itself is not a completed renewal. Keep the submission confirmation with the membership information.

Will I need another Global Entry interview?
An interview may be required, but not every renewal needs one. CBP determines the requirement during its review. Check the dashboard for instructions after submission rather than scheduling on the assumption that your first interview settles every future renewal.
If an interview is requested, follow the renewal-specific instructions in the account. Do not replace a pending renewal with a separate first-time Global Entry application because you have not yet seen a decision.
How long does Global Entry renewal take?
A renewal does not have one guaranteed completion date for every member. Continue checking the TTP account for a decision, a request, or an interview instruction. An email about a status change is a reason to open the account and read the actual message.
If you filed before expiry, CBP says benefits can continue for up to 24 months after the expiration date while renewal is pending. That continuation is different from receiving a newly approved membership. Keep the pending application and membership dates available when checking your status.
FAQ
Does adding my new passport renew membership?
No. Updating a travel document in the profile is different from submitting a membership renewal.
Do I need a new first-time account?
Use the existing membership profile and its renewal option. Associate the correct PASSID if account setup requires it.
