TSA PreCheck renewal online or in person

Renew a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) PreCheck membership through one of its authorized enrollment providers. Compare the renewal method and fee before starting. A new-enrollment application and a renewal are different purchases, and Global Entry renews through a separate CBP system.

How often does TSA PreCheck need renewal?

TSA PreCheck enrollment provides five years of benefits. Check the membership’s actual expiration information before choosing a renewal route. The date of an airline reservation is not the membership-expiration date.

Start from the existing membership rather than creating a new first-time application. Keep the renewal confirmation so you can distinguish a submitted renewal from an application saved but not completed.

Where do I renew TSA PreCheck online?

TSA links to CLEAR, IDEMIA, and Telos as authorized enrollment providers. Use the renewal service from those TSA-linked sites. A page offering airport benefits under a separate commercial membership is not the same product as TSA PreCheck itself.

The TSA renewal page lets you compare those providers before leaving for the application. Choose based on renewal availability, the method you qualify for, and the actual price shown for that method.

How much does TSA PreCheck renewal cost?

The current TSA page lists online renewal at $58.75 with IDEMIA, $72.95 with CLEAR, and $69.95 with Telos. The listed in-person renewal prices are $66.75, $84.95, and $58.75 respectively.

Compare the online and in-person columns separately. A provider with one price for a new application can have another for renewal. An advertised bundle can add a separate membership commitment, so use the renewal price for the service you intend to buy.

Where do I find the KTN and expiration information?

Use the existing Known Traveler Number and the membership information requested by the provider. TSA’s renewal page links a KTN lookup specifically for TSA PreCheck members. It excludes Global Entry members from that lookup route.

If you cannot identify the membership, solve that with the provider’s lookup or support instructions before paying for another enrollment. Keep the KTN with the renewal confirmation and use matching passenger details in travel reservations.

Can I finish renewal without an office visit?

TSA offers online renewal choices. Follow the selected provider’s questions to determine the available route and any document or in-person requirement for your record. Keep current identifying information ready and review what changed since the original enrollment.

Submit the renewal and payment through the selected process, then follow any status instructions. Finishing a provider questionnaire is different from receiving confirmation that the renewal is complete.

Do Global Entry members use this renewal?

Global Entry renewal is handled through the Trusted Traveler Programs account, not the stand-alone TSA PreCheck enrollment-provider process. Check which membership supplies your screening benefits before choosing where to renew.

If you have no existing TSA PreCheck membership and want to enroll, use the new-application route. That process has its own document review, enrollment visit, and fee.

FAQ

Can I renew through a provider different from the first one?

TSA lists renewal through any of its authorized providers. Follow the selected provider’s membership-identification and renewal requirements.

Does paying for a bundle make all future renewals free?

Read the bundle terms separately. TSA’s standard renewal prices and a provider’s additional membership product are different offers.
